Serena Williams’ Real Weight Loss Journey Involves a Denim Skirt

In a world where social media is flooded with weight loss transformations, Serena Williams stands out by sharing her journey in a refreshingly real and organic way. The tennis legend isn’t just flaunting results; she’s taking her followers along for the ride. Her method is as relatable as it gets: a trusty jean skirt.

“Ok everyone, the jean skirt is baaaaaaackkkkkk. Paris was fun, but I gotta see if I can fit in this skirt yet – saying a little prayer…lol,” wrote Williams on Instagram. This candid update from the 23-time Grand Slam champion is a breath of fresh air as it’s not about instant results or miracle fixes. While we’ve all been there, watching the tennis icon attempt to pulls it over her butt and thighs shows it’s about real progress and perseverance.

Showing Progress

Balancing her role as a new mom, the launch of her beauty brand WYN, and her desire to fit back into her favorite denim skirt, she’s showing fans that even superstars have their struggles. Back in May, Williams, who welcomed her second child in August 2023, began sharing her progress with the denim skirt. At the time, the WYN Beauty founder wasn’t able to get the skirt up past her hips. Then, the star stopped and said she’d continue with her regimen until she could get it up past her hips. This time, she was able to get the skirt all the way up past her hips, thighs and butt, which is a major win for the all star.

Follower Support

Some followers have criticized her for wanting to fit into a smaller piece of clothing, arguing that it perpetuates unrealistic body standards. However, the majority of her followers have praised her for her authenticity and for giving fans a genuine glimpse into her life. While some have said, don’t lose any more trying to get into that jean skirt.

“Girl, your body is a blessing, a national treasure. don’t nobody care about that damn jean skirt!” wrote follower Harritsrevenge. “I’m sad you lost something to get it on this far. Justice for the behind!”

Williams’s struggles are a refreshing reminder that true progress takes time and dedication. By sharing her real, unfiltered experience, she continues to inspire others as she always has on and off the court.
