Zendaya Shared Her Workout Routine and It’s Surprisingly Low Key

While plenty of celebrities stick to strict, time-consuming fitness regimens, Zendaya’s current approach is less intense. The actress discussed her workout routine and other wellness habits in a recent interview with Vogue

Zendaya spoke with the publication on behalf of her new partnership with the running apparel brand On, but noted that, ironically, she’s not all that active at the moment. “It’s a joke amongst my friends and family, but I don’t have a workout practice, per se,” she said in the interview. “I’m not the best at keeping up with it.”

Zendaya, who has a background as a dancer, is no stranger to workouts. In playing a tennis star, Zendaya’s most recent role in Challengers required her to put work into training. In a behind-the-scenes Instagram post, she shared clips of herself preparing for the role, including shots of her practicing a sequence on the tennis court and struggling to maintain balance on an exercise ball.

When she’s not preparing for a role though, she’s less inclined to continue working out. “I think sometimes people assume that because of what they see of me, maybe I’m a certain way,” the actress told Vogue. “But when I’m not working, I tend to isolate myself. My therapist, family, and friends will tell me, ‘You need to get up and get out,’ and I never want to—but when I make myself do it, I realize it’s actually kind of nice. I’m less anxious.”

The actress went on to say that she’s trying to start working out more, since she’s found movement makes a notable difference to her mental health. She’s also recently adopted breathwork and meditation.
