Mindy Kaling Radiates Confidence in New Andie Swim Collection: Pics

Mindy Kaling launched her second swimwear collaboration with Andie Swim just under two weeks ago—and it’s nothing short of covetable. The 44-year-old actress continues to promote the line, this time showcasing her toned figure in a series of swimsuit-clad Polaroid photos.

On Sunday, May 26, she took to Instagram to share a reel of herself modeling various designs from the new collection with the caption, “Summer starts now!” In the post, she poses for six Polaroid pictures, not only displaying her “favorite styles” from the line but also her impressive 40-pound weight loss. She smiles for the camera in a variety of styles, including a high-neck one-piece swimsuit, swim shorts, and a unique swimsuit cardigan, among others.

Although Kaling hasn’t specifically addressed her feelings about wearing swimwear after losing weight, she has acknowledged that her weight has changed and that Andie swimwear has consistently looked great on her, regardless of her size. “Like a lot of women, my body shape changes and Andie suits look great and make me feel confident no matter what size I am,” she captioned a joint post with the brand two weeks back.

The New York Times best-selling author has been somewhat reserved about the specifics of her weight loss journey but she remains vocal about body positivity. “I like to think of myself as someone who has been really body positive and vocal about how important it is for people of all shapes and sizes to feel comfortable in their skin,” she told NewBeauty earlier this month.

Kaling’s dedication to body positivity matches the inclusive nature of the swimwear brand well, which is why this is her second collection with them; her first debuted last year. Ahead of its launch, she spoke with People Magazine about her fitness and weight loss journey. “I’m feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I’ve been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately,” she told the outlet. “I feel great.”

“I know people are really interested in my body and the changes in my body, and I think it’s flattering and sometimes it’s just a little much, so I don’t try to tune it in too much,” she continued. “The truth is that I spend so much time and energy trying to be healthy.”

She also revealed that that she either runs or hikes 20 miles a week and lifts weights with a trainer, a regimen which she admits is a “big commitment.”

“It’s hard with two kids that I wake up really early and I fit it in and I basically live in workout clothes so I can get it in, get an extra mile in,” she said. “I just tell myself I have to do basically 20 miles a week of either hiking or running. And so that’s been incredibly helpful to me.”

The previous year, she shared with the same outlet her evolving philosophy on exercise. “I’ve tried really hard to let go of this idea of losing weight for vanity reasons and really trying to think of how I can be healthy,” she said in May of 2022. “And for me, healthy is working out, moving my body a lot, keeping hydrated, and then not having negative connotations around working out and making me feel like if I don’t do this, then I won’t be something else. And that’s taken a long time to kind of shed those old ideas of working out.”
