    Glitter ball

Whether you want high-octane glitz or just a hint of sparkle, this look is playful, easy to do and will take your party look from zero to hero. Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury says, ‘Start with a flawless canvas. Here, he used him Magic Away Concealer, £24 and Light Wonder Foundation, £32. You’ll also want to apply concealer to your lids and under-eye area to follow the shimmer,’ adds Tilbury who shared her exclusive pro tips on this shoot.

‘Then, working quickly, pat the loose, chunky flax over the top with your ring finger before it sets. To keep it looking modern, finish with a coat of mascara, applied only to the roots.’ try out Sleek Glitterfest Biodegradable Glitter in Silver, £5.49And Yves Saint Laurent The Curler Mascara in Black, £26.

Chocolate and Gold: A winning make-up combination for every skin tone. But the festive season gives us license to be more adventurous, so push yourself out of your beauty comfort zone and use metallics to amp up the drama. You’ll need to start with a glossy complexion, so give dull skin a light-bulb moment. Charlotte Tilbury Gold Palette Bar, £49which gives a metallic sheen to the cheekbones, nose and cupid’s bow.

For sculpted eyes, sweep Chanel Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in Chocolate Brown, £26Sparkly on the lids before dabbing Tom Ford’s Shadow Extreme in TFX2 Gold, £30, at the inner corners. ‘The key is to blend, blend, blend with a make-up brush so the two tones blend seamlessly,’ says Tilbury. To increase the mouth, he twisted it Matte Revolution Lipstick in Birkin Brown, £24On the lips of the model Veridiana.

    Crazy about Matt

Whatever you’re wearing, red lipstick will get you party-ready in seconds. This season’s top lip tip? Focus on the finish. Glitter can look OTT, but a velvety matte stamp is both chic And Cool Also it’s now even more possible to have lipstick formulas that are flexible and soft instead of hard and thick. ‘If you want to reshape your lips and cupid’s bow, stencil with a “stealth liner” first,’ says Tilbury.

‘Trace the natural outline of your lips, correct any uneven unevenness, then extend the roundness slightly beyond the lip line.’ Try Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Kiss n Tell, £16And then press Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Teal Laura, £24Straight from the bullet to your mouth.

    Back to black

Smokey eyes are gorgeous, mysterious and face-lifting but can also be unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming to create. Tilbury’s technology consists of only two products. Just start with a cream base BareMinerals’ General Nude Eyeshadow + Primer in Exposed, £19 To encourage anything you apply to the top so you stay.

Then, use a small brush to create a chunky, cat-shaped line of black shadow and sweep it down to the lower lashline. Add a swipe of black eyeliner for added intensity. We love Charlotte Tilbury’s smoke shade Sophisticate Palette, £39And Classic Eye Pencil in Audrey, £16 – Both are dark and matte. Mascara (try Legendary Lashes Volume 2, £25), brushed brows, nude blush and flushed lips are quite dressy.

    Pink Power

Christmas is a time to get creative with colors but, instead of a rainbow, stick to just one shade. Tilbury chose millennial pink – unexpected, yes, but boy does it work. Step 1: Create a neutral makeup base. ‘I like to massage the skin with myself Magic Cream, £70to stimulate lymphatic drainage and promote circulation,’ she says.

Next is a broom Hollywood Beauty Light Wand, £29, above the top of the cheekbones, the tip of the nose and the inner corner of the eyes. ‘It gives this wonderful spotlight shine,’ says Tilbury. Add a light wash of pinkish cream shadow on your lids – try it Givenchy Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow 16H Waterproof Hold in Rose Illusion, £20. Then apply Charlotte Tilbury Kisses Lipstick in Velvet Underground, £24. Skip the mascara, this look is effective and fresh without it.
