‘Tis the party season. Yes, there are presents to wrap and songs to sing, but there are also many, many parties to attend. Which means your party makeup and party hairstyle should be on point. However, this can prove difficult when you have an event every night of the week.

Thankfully, Adam Reid – ghd brand ambassador and co-founder of one of London’s best hair salons Percy & Reid – has come up with a five-day hair plan to get you from party to party. ‘If you’re partying all five nights of the work week, you’ll want a different look for each night without spending too much time styling your hair,’ he explains. ‘Your hair plan is just as important as your outfit.’

    Day 1 – Get a blowdry

Reid suggests having a blowdry to set the foundation for the week ahead. ‘Starting the week with a good blowdry will lay a foundation that will last all week as you won’t have time to wash and blow dry your hair mid-week and can prioritize an extra 30 minutes in bed each day. ‘ Book on your lunch break, or on the way to your first party.

Day 2 – Tongue your hair

On the second day, your breath should still be strong, so all you need to do is juice. Reid recommends adding in some loose waves, ‘tong sections of your hair using the ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong. I’ll wrap your hair around the tongs, facing away from the face, then massage the roots and brush through the curls using your fingers.’

You’re about halfway through now, so your hair will likely be a little flat, so it’s time to freshen up. You want to add texture and volume to the roots, so spritz around the crown with a texturizing spray. ‘It will add instant glamorous volume and a more beachy texture than day one.’

You’re at event four, your hair is probably looking a little greasy now, so don’t fight it, work with what you’ve got: ‘A super sleek with a statement. , disguise greasy roots by creating a straight look. Center division. Straighten your hair, then tuck behind the ears and smooth.’

    Day 5 – Pop into a ponytail

You’re on the final day, so you’re either sleepwalking or dangerously hungry. Make things easy on yourself and go for a simple ponytail. ‘This strong party look actually works better on hair that’s not too clean,’ says Reid. Pull the hair into a high, tight ponytail, then tie it with a pretty ribbon. This will draw focus and attention away from the front of your hair.

So there we have it, your five-day party wall plan. On the sixth day we recommend watching Christmas movies on your couch.
