  • As temperatures continue to climb into the high 20s, summer is well and truly here and what better time to revamp your make-up routine than now.

We have worked together on the shoot with Guerlain and make-up artists to the stars, Valeria FerreiraTo bring you a gorgeous, quick and easy, hot-weather-worthy make-up look, because no one wants to spend more than 5 minutes applying products in the sweltering heat.

This season it’s all about perfecting the skin and introducing pops of color. Dewy skin is important because let’s face it, as the sun beats down on us, the shine is impossible to deal with, so embrace it!

Taking inspiration from the ever-glamorous summer evening, we chose a fun tangerine tone on the eyes and a glossy lip to finish, and voila! You’re ready for summer.

Valeria’s step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve the look…

Step 1: “The key for this editorial story was to prepare the skin well and get to that ‘perfect spot,’” says Valeria. “We used several products to make the skin look good. As we all know that makeup starts with skin care! We started by cleaning with excellent Guerlain Abil Royal Cleansing Oil Anti Pollution, 150ml, £42, I like to double cleanse to remove all impurities and leave skin looking its best. This cleanser removes impurities and leaves skin looking healthy and plump with a soothing soft feel.

Step 2: “I then did the mask for 10 minutes Guerlain Abiel Royale Honey Cataplasm Mask£93, and jade rolled it on to get the blood flowing and give the skin a real boost.

Step 3: “I completed the skin care preparation with excellence Guerlain Abiel Royale Youth Watery Oil50ml, £108, a true elixir and god-send product that works so well under makeup and gives that effortless glow we all crave.”

Step 4: “I wanted our model’s skin to look warm and warm, adopting golden hues. I mixed Guerlain Abiel Royale Youth Watery Oil50ml, £108, with a bit Guerlain L’Essentiel High Perfection 24h Wear Foundation 045W, £44, in shade 045W, which is the perfect shade and texture. This foundation is comfortable and flexible as well as buildable, allowing you to create the coverage you want depending on the occasion or time of year.

Step 5: “Then we moved on to contour and sculpt, I contoured and added warmth to the skin with Iconic. Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder 00 Light Cool, £39, in shade 00, now reformulated and made with 96% naturally derived ingredients. I blended it to create a halo effect over the high points of our model’s bone structure and eyelids.”

Step 6: “I wanted the lashes to feel natural but with a little definition. The Guerlain Mad Eyes Mascara, £29, is one of my favourites. The flexible, bold black finish and brush are unique separating every lash that doesn’t require a lash comb after application.

Step 7: “I choose a lip shade to go on my model’s eyelids. I went with a gorgeous tangerine tone, Guerlain KissKiss Shine Bloom 319 Peach Kiss in the shade, £31, and then Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder 00 Light Cool in Shade, £39, dusted.

Step 8: “To finish the look on the lips, I chose this Guerlain KissKiss Shine Bloom 109 Lily Caress in shade, £31.
